Rosuvastatin calcium is an organic calcium salt that is the hemicalcium salt of rosuvastatin . It has a role as an anti-inflammatory agent, a CETP inhibitor and a cardioprotective agent. A hydroxymethylglutaryl-coa-reductase inhibitor, or statin, that reduces the plasma concentrations of Ldc-cholesterol; Apolipoprotein B, and Triglycerides while increasing Hdl-cholesterol levels in patients with hypercholesterolemia and those at risk for cardiovascular diseases.
